Not Cooling Your Home
System runs but won't cool — often caused by a refrigerant leak, failed compressor, or dirty evaporator coil in Florida's heat.
Refrigerant Leak
Low refrigerant reduces efficiency and can permanently damage your compressor. We locate, repair, and recharge to spec.
Frozen Evaporator Coil
Ice buildup on the indoor coil blocks airflow and shuts down cooling — usually caused by low refrigerant or dirty filters.
Water Leaks / Drain Line
Clogged condensate drain lines are extremely common in Florida's humidity. We clear and treat the line to prevent overflow damage.
AC Won't Turn On
Tripped breakers, failed capacitors, faulty thermostats, or failed control boards — we diagnose and fix all startup issues.
Strange Noises
Banging, squealing, or grinding from your AC usually signals a mechanical problem. Don't ignore it — call us before it gets worse.

Our standard residential diagnostic fee is $89. Your technician finds the cause of the problem, explains it in plain language and gives you a flat-rate price for the repair before any work begins. Einstein Air Home Comfort Club members pay no diagnostic fee during regular hours.
Call for service if your AC blows warm air, airflow from the vents is weak, the system turns on and off frequently, you hear buzzing, grinding or squealing, water is leaking near the indoor unit, the house feels humid, or your electric bill jumps without a reason. Catching these early usually means a smaller, less expensive repair.
Ice on the indoor coil or the copper lines is usually caused by restricted airflow or low refrigerant. A clogged air filter, blocked return vents, a dirty evaporator coil or a failing blower motor can all cause it. Turn the cooling off and run only the fan to let the ice melt, replace the filter, and call us if it freezes again, because running a frozen system can damage the compressor.
In Jacksonville's humidity, the most common cause is a clogged condensate drain line. Algae and debris block the line, the drain pan overflows and water ends up on the floor or ceiling. A dirty filter that lets the coil freeze and then thaw can also cause leaks. Turn the system off to prevent water damage and call us. We clear and treat the drain line and check the safety float switch.
First check that the thermostat is set to Cool, the set temperature is below room temperature and the batteries are good. Then check the breaker for the indoor and outdoor units. A full drain pan can also trip the float switch and shut the system down. If the breaker trips again after you reset it, do not keep resetting it. Common causes include a failed capacitor, contactor or control board, which our technicians can diagnose and repair.
Buzzing from the outdoor unit often points to a failing capacitor or contactor. Squealing or grinding usually means worn fan or blower motor bearings, and banging or rattling can mean a loose or broken part. A hissing sound may indicate a refrigerant leak. Turn the system off and schedule a repair, because these problems tend to get worse and more expensive if the unit keeps running.
An AC should remove moisture as it cools. If your home feels sticky, common causes are an oversized system that short-cycles, the thermostat fan set to On instead of Auto, low refrigerant, a dirty evaporator coil or leaky ductwork pulling in humid attic air. Our technicians can find the cause and recommend the right fix, including whole-home dehumidification if needed.
Most common repairs, such as replacing a capacitor or contactor, clearing a clogged drain line or replacing a fan motor, are completed on the same visit, often within one to two hours. Our trucks carry common parts. Larger repairs, such as a compressor or coil replacement, may require ordering parts, and we will give you a clear timeline before we start.
